KAKHETI - THE CRADLE OF WINE
Kakheti is one of the most popular places to visit, it is the major wine producing region in Georgia.
This tour offers to discover fascinating medieval architecture, beautiful landscapes and wineries around Sighnaghi. Highlights include winetasting in the wineries. You will taste delicious Georgian cuisine and local wines, made by ancient method in Kvevri, egg-shaped clay vessel in a local family, where you will have an opportunity to participate in traditional Churchkhela making process.
HIGHLIGHTS DURING THE TOUR
Bodbe convent, which according to the legend is a burial place of St. Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity in the 4th century. Bodbe Monastery is among tall Cypress trees on a steep hillside overlooking Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains.
Sighnaghi, the city of love and one of the crossroads of the Great Silk Road surrounded by defensive wall with 23 towers. Sighnagi is famous for its narrow cobbled streets and districts, which are full of one or two storey houses with bright red tiled roofs and traditional balconies. During the city tour, we will walk on a historical wall from the 18th century.
